OK, What do I mean by the title? Well this is the beginning of the 'Story' and I'll get on with it from here.I've been blessed with an 'illness'!
Some who know will understand while others may take exception to a comment like that. But it is the way I feel.
If your reading this you are because of several reasons... Your a friend that I have spoken to about it and are checking it out. Or, As the 'Main' Universal Law states... "Like attracts Like" or "Birds of a Feather".
I have found that quite true indeed!
So, here I go.
I spent about 16 years in Las Vegas, Nevada and was in the Casino Security field. NOT a place, or job I ever thought I would be in. I was at one time a Director of Security at one establishment and third in line and being groomed for Director at a Major Resort Casino when things came apart and took a great toll on me. But the 'place' I eventually would grow immensely in!
Lots of stories about that and maybe some I'll share along the way. I always thought that if I could write down all the incidents I was a part of or witnessed in that job, it would make a great 'Barney Miller' kind of television show!
But the job also brought loads of stress. Especially to one who, at heart was an aging hippie. It would I believe ultimately lead to a form of PTSD and the condition, in part I had been 'blessed' with. I have been diagnosed with a failing heart in case I hadn't mentioned it. At first, I considered the diagnosis a form of 'Cosmic Joke' because I was at the time taking better care of myself than I ever had. I was practicing yoga, I had become a Reiki Master/ Teacher, Eating well, I was teaching Reiki classes and holding healing circles and teaching that the heart was not just a muscle that pumped the blood through the system, but also moved the life force energy through the soul system.
I had even already decided I was leaving the Casino Security field and well... Heading to live with and work for some very dear friends in Hawaii.
Then, I am 'suddenly' informed my Heart is 'malfunctioning'! Yep! I needed a defibrillator AND a pacemaker implanted to keep alive.
I so didn't believe it that I took a vacation to visit a cousin that lived near Denver, Colorado. Yep! The Mile High City, and took some beautiful hikes and saw some glorious lands! Started taking pictures (again). Something that was a passion of mine many, many years ago! I even enlisted in the US Navy to get photography training.
I had little difficulty traversing Colorado and decided all was well, I thought. The trouble catching my breath? Not a problem....
I did end up quitting and moving to Hawaii (hence the 'Aloha' part) But I soon knew it was only the first stop on my new journey. After a short stay with relatives in Spokane, I met a Woman from England residing in Norway that eventually became my mate. The 'messages' I began receiving along the way were all saying follow your passion.... I picked up my camera again and began, as I once put it in a paper I wrote in high school, looking through 'another eye'. The lens of my camera. The messages continued and I soon knew I had to see and capture what I saw through that lens to show to others. We all see things differently and that is what makes us each so special in this Universe! To continue to grow and evolve is our true journey here!
And well, that is what I will do from this time on.
So I will post photos of my 'journey' and tell some stories along the way....
Welcome on board if you wish as All are welcome!
The title of my Blog? I have always felt I have been an observer, never quite fully in the body and just a little left and above the head.
I will do my best to follow a couple of self imposed rules here. No judgments and no 'tourist pics'!
So Aloha from Norway for now! I've got some great shots of this beautiful country I'll post soon as well as pictures I took from a trip to Ireland.
In April I'll be heading for England too!
And then.....
So the 'Cosmic Joke' of a heart condition? It may well have been one after all.
The Best kind of Cosmic Joke.
The One where I follow my dreams!
I always enjoyed your writing and photography. I'm glad you're putting them together and sharing your travels with us! I love you xoxo
